Finding respite from the physically intensive work that her stone and cement pieces entail, Kym decided to try creating small cathedral-glass wind chimes. Inspired by the vivid colors and beautiful forms, Kym saw the potential for the wind chimes to grow bigger and better.  The chimes became mobiles with over 100 unique pieces of glass. As with the trademark of Kym’s lamps’ reflections (see Retrospective – Twigs and Wood), the wind chimes and mobiles also produce gorgeous multi-colored “shadows”. Eventually, the mobiles inspired glass sculptures. Kym produced a series of four sculptures, representing one piece, called “Transformation: The Art of Becoming.” Germination. Sprouting. Full Bloom. Going to Seed.

Kym stopped creating cathedral-glass pieces in 2007.
