Finding respite from the physically intensive work that her stone and cement pieces entail, Kym decided to try creating small cathedral-glass wind chimes. Inspired by the vivid colors and beautiful forms, Kym saw the potential for the wind chimes to grow bigger and better. ¬†The chimes became mobiles with over 100 unique pieces of glass. As with the trademark of Kym’s lamps’ reflections (see Retrospective – Twigs and Wood), the wind chimes and mobiles also produce gorgeous multi-colored “shadows”. Eventually, the mobiles inspired glass sculptures. Kym produced a series of four sculptures, representing one piece, called “Transformation: The Art of Becoming.” Germination. Sprouting. Full Bloom. Going to Seed.

Kym stopped creating cathedral-glass pieces in 2007.
